I’ve always thought you can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to, what they’re reading and their shoes. And, based on a nation wide poll about email user demographics, it seems you can also tell a lot about a person by their email address… right down to their weight and the types of snacks they prefer (which probably says something about their weight).

In this infographic you’ll get insight into who the prevailing email providers are right now, from Gmail to Outlook on the hosted Exchange platform, as well as what percentage of the email market share they make up, and what kind of person is most likely to use which personal email provider. If you’d guess that someone with an email address like cutsiebaby99 probably ends with @yahoo.com and that someone using their real name has a Gmail address, you’re right on!
